It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Ann Speight of Chinquapin, North Carolina, who passed away on June 13, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmo Sealey and Betty Whaley; her son Michael E. Whaley; her siblings, Gene Sealey, Bill Sealey, Martha Sealey and Ricky Sealey; and her daughter-in-law LouAnn H. Whaley.
She is survived by: her husband Charles "Bud" Speight; her children, Betty Michelle "Missy" Norris (Andy) of Chinquapin and Timothy "Timmy" Whaley of Kenansville; her stepdaughter Donna Sawyer (Jimmy) of Jacksonville; her sister Earline Whaley of Beulaville; her grandchildren, Rebecca Harrell of Pink Hill, Shanna Hulett of Chinquapin, Timothy Smith of Richlands, Matthew Smith, TJ Whaley of Albertson, Adam Watson of Kenansville and Dylan Norris of Kenansville; and her great grandchildren, Lili, Miley Harrell, Harper, Holden, Huxley, Henley Smith, Morgan, Liliana Smith, Jackson Hulett, McKenna Arnold and Madelyn Norris. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
