She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James Arthur Carter and Lillie Clark Carter; her husband Marion Manley Henderson; her sister Delois Gosselin of Rocky Mount; her children, Marion "Glenn" Henderson (Alma Ann Bordeaux) of Rose Hill, Anthony Wayne Henderson (Toni Murphy) of Chinquapin and Phyllis Henderson Simmons (Richard); and her grandchildren, Valorie Henderson Taylor (Hunter) of Quantico, VA, Justin Murphy of Wilmington, Bradley Murphy (Courtney) of Chinquapin, Hillary Henderson (Michael Hill) of Kinston, Christina Abigail Batts-Nelson (William), Amanda Simmons Hall (Kevin) of Leland, Trina Gayle Lewis of Leland, Chancey Nichole Maditz of Leland, Alexis of Leland, Taylor Roberts of Leland, Naomi Nelson of Leland, Aarron Batts of Leland, Ava of Leland, Ella Hall of Leland, Dylan of Leland, Cameron Lewis of Leland, Jaxon of Leland, Jasmine Maditz of Leland and Nova Taylor of Quantico, VA.. She was also cherished by her children, grandchildren and extended family.
Even though during the last twelve years she struggled with Alzheimer's, she always had a very big smile and a glint her eye that continued to encourage her family to be strong and confirm the love that she felt for each of them.
