He was predeceased by : his parents, John Caleb Goodman and Lottie Sloop Goodman; his wife Peggy Deal Goodman; his siblings, Elmer, Carl, Dorothy, Margaret and Gladys; and his grandson Matthew Goodman.

He is survived by : his children, Alan Goodman (Darlene), Lynn Goodman (Jodi) and Amie Goodman; his sisters, Mildred Overcash and Ola Mae Harrison; his grandchildren, Brittany, Jeffrey (Marisa), Katelyn, Erica, Nicholas (Jennifer), Caleb (Preston), Madison (Bryan) and Tabby; and his great grandchildren, Oliver, Makayla, Maximus, Jayden, Paisleigh, Laiklyn, Calliope, Hunter, Nicolas, Jasmine, Josh and Myah.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 3rd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home (1420 N Main St, China Grove, NC 28023). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 4th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church (750 Mt Moriah Church Rd, China Grove, NC 28023).
