He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Thomas Self and Ruby Joplin Self; and his brother Timothy Calvin Self. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Wilbanks Self; his son Dwayne Thomas Self of Wilkesboro; his stepson Ronnie Wayne Wilkerson of Salisbury; his sister Linda Kay Self of Wilkesboro; his grandchildren, Hunter Thomas Self and Tyler Wayne Self; and his stepgrandchildren, Kayden Livengood and Kyleigh Debarros.
