He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Owen Richards, Sr. and Marita Gibson Richards; his son Keith Shue; his granddaughter Jennifer Ervin; and his sister Melissa King.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Shue Richards; his children, Michael Ervin of China Grove, Sherry E. Stone of Concord and Johnny Love of Faith; his sister Joni Hartless of Ohio; and his grandchildren, Justin Ervin, Jordan Love, Travis Allen, Kayla Mickey, Aaron Ervin and Heather Ervin. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
