He was predeceased by: his parents, James Grex Urey and Billie Lou McWethy. He is survived by: his son James Grex Urey; his stepdaughters, Kerstin Marie Urey and Amanda Lechette; his significant other Virginia Laureen Hunter; and his sister Tina Baker.

“My condolence goes out to Keith's family. I was totally shocked and saddened when I heard the news. Keith was a dear friend and Santa partner at kannapolis Village Park. I know he loved the role of Santa Claus he loved making children happy. I'm so glad he got to be in the kannapolis Christmas parade. He had always wanted to do that so when I step down I turn it over to Keith, I'm so glad I did. Keith will dearly be missed. Sorry I didn't make it to the funeral home.”
