He is survived by: his wife Anna "Colleen" Vaughn Elston; his daughters, Deena Chavis (Woody) of Kannapolis and Rhonda Elston of Indiana; his grandson Shane Blalock of Charlotte; and his sisters, Betty Franke and Virginia Rautenbusch.
