He was predeceased by: his parents, John Walter McDonald, Sr. and Inez Mary Price McDonald. He is survived by: his son Ryan McDonald (Julie Butts Dobbins) of China Grove; his grandson Elin Andrew McDonald; and his brother David Neal McDonald of Kannapolis.
In Lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Veteran's Association of the donor's choice.
