He was predeceased by: his parents, Fannie Lee Clampet Yates and Willie Price Yates; his daughter Debbie Yates; and his siblings, Price Yates, Willie Mae Yates and Colleen Yates Henry.
He is survived by: his sons, Adam Wayne Yates Jordan (Rahshun) of Kansas City, MO. and Joel Wayne Yates II (Debbie) of Salisbury, NC; his grandchildren, Stacy Adams, Caitlyn Goodnight, Matt Yates and Cameron Yates; and his great grandchildren, Everlee Yates and Jacob Buckley.
