He was predeceased by: his parents, George F. McWhorter and Laura Shinn McWhorter. He is survived by: his children, Keith McWhorter of Concord, Kim Bumgardner (Phil) of Kannapolis and Karen Barker of Mooresville; his grandchildren, Adam Bumgardner, Julianna Bumgardner Kirby (Chase), Kelsey Brigman, Kendyl Brigman and Kylie Patten; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Silas Kirby.
