He was predeceased by: his parents, Spofford James and Bessie Tucker James; his children, Kimberly J. Barrier (Walter), Gwendolyn L. Atkinson (Brian) and Chad E. James (Aline); his grandchildren, Hillari Atkinson, ReeAnn Chastain and Everett James; and his sister Margaret Sheets.
