She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Henderson Stirewalt and Thelma Jones Stirewalt; her husband Robert Lee Rushing; her brother Jack Stirewalt; and her cousin George Jones.

She is survived by: her brother Bill Earl Stirewalt; and her cousins, Janice Hunt, Larry Jones, Johnsie Wilhoit, Gwyn Brantley and Rita Teal.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 4914 Old Beatty Ford Road, China Grove, NC 28023.
