He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor C Jennings and Susie Waddell Jennings; his wife Jessie Bowers Jennings; and his sisters, Dorothy Hattaway, Katheryn Lingle, Bonnie Martin and Lucy Smith.

He is survived by: his daughter Julia Rex Shue (Homer); his sisters, Iris Porterfield and Frances Jennings; and his close friend Charles Scarboro. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
