He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Proffitt and Opal Mae Proffitt; his wife Virginia; and his siblings, Lonnie, Mary, Freda, Billy and Mona Faye.
He is survived by: his siblings, Margaret, Dora Arlene and Wesley; and his children, Deborah, Carmen, Michael and Tisa. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 1218 W A St, Kannapolis, NC 28081. A burial was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Charlotte Memorial Gardens (7632 Hood Rd, Charlotte, NC 28215).
