He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Monroe Wellmon and Rochelle Smith Wellmon; and his siblings, Mae Meismer, Frankie Wellmon Davis, Willie, Billie and James Wellmon.
He is survived by: his children, David Wellmon (Janice), Pam Pritchett (Glenn) and Mark Wellmon (Cindy); his brother Al Wellmon (Helen); his grandchildren, Crystal McVay (David), Brad Pritchett, Brian Wellmon, Amy Pritchett and Richard Wellmon (Melissa); and his great grandchildren, Andrew McVay and Madison Brumbaugh. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.
