He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Warren Scism and Neva Howell Scism Hollifield. He is survived by: his daughter Heather Lovell of Gaston, SC; his grandchildren, Donna "Lenay" Lovell and Ashton David Lovell; and his sisters, Screttia Hartman of Cherryville and Gwynneth Blackwelder of Cherryville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
