He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hezekiah Philbeck and Pauline Phillips Philbeck; his wife Carolyn Brittain Philbeck; his daughter Elizabeth "Beth" Williams; and his siblings, Ben Philbeck, Barbara Cole and Geneva Moore.
He is survived by: his daughter Tammy Glover of Cherryville; his grandchildren, Jessica Wiley (Chris), Amber Bryson (Josh Bolding), Taylor Williams, Zachary Glover, Jeremy and Jordan Hicks; his great grandchildren, Autumn Grace Williams, Jarvis Bolding and Jaxson Bolding; his sisters, Margie Ware of Kings Mountain and Kathy Stanford of Laurinburg; and his niece Connie Hallman of Maiden.
