He is survived by: his mother Annie Mae Brittain Mellon of Cherryville; his wife Donna Carpenter Mellon; his son Isaiah Mellon (Laurin) of Lincolnton; his granddaughter Ellah Mellon; and his siblings, Joyce Sneed and Eddie Mellon of Cherryville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
