He is survived by: his wife Mary Linda Powell; his children, Robbie Powell of Cherryville, Fred Powell (Michele) of Vale and Donna Powell of Cherryville; his daughter-in-law Kimberly Powell of Lincolnton; his siblings, Bill Powell of Shelby, Peggy Lackey of Cary and Pat McSwain of South Carolina; his grandchildren, Kayla Eakes (Justin), Brittany Sisk (Justin), Gabrielle Powell, Sophie Powell, Jake Powell, Katherine Powell, Katelyn Powell and Jace Powell; and his great grandchild Oliver Eakes.
