She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Powell and Elizabeth Parker Powell; her husband Jethro William "Bill" McSwain; and her sisters, Martha Mode and Myrtle Thompson.
She is survived by: her nieces, Gail Gilbert of Rutherfordton and Amanda Roper of Raleigh; her nephew Richard McSwain of Cherryville; and her sister-in-law Melba McSwain of Cherryville.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM at the Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home (405 N Dixie St, Cherryville, NC 28021). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
