With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Loretta Hardin Carpenter of Cherryville, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on October 5, 2023 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Barney Stroupe and Emily Stroupe; her husband James Arthur Hardin; and her daughters, Delores Huss and Alice Martin.

She is survived by: her sons, David Arthur Hardin (Wanda), Paul James Hardin (Carol) and Joel Wayne Hardin (Diane); her sister Sarah Huskey; and her grandchildren, Heather Hardin, Nikki Knight, Dylan Martin, Becky Thrift and Debbie Lynn McGill. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
