It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe Gainey of Cherryville, North Carolina, who passed away on October 24, 2024, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Joe leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Walin and Connie Francis Alexander Gainey. He is survived by: his brother Jerry Gainey of Cherryville; his niece Delena Jarvis of Cherryville; and his cousin Bob Hager.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 27th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services (1100 E Main St, Cherryville, NC 28021). A memorial service was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (107 W Academy St, Cherryville, NC 28021).
