With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jean Avery Black of Cherryville, North Carolina, who passed away on November 9, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Marshall and Floy Schronce Avery; her husband Howard; and her siblings, J. W. John William Avery, Nellie Sue Killian, Joanne Avery Hart and Bobby Steele Avery.

She is survived by: her brother Donald Wilson Avery. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
