He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Sue Heafner Canipe; his children, Eddie Canipe, Michael Canipe, Lori Matney (Timothy) of Lincolnton, Elizabeth Godfrey and Quinton Rayfield of Vale; his grandchildren, Tryston, Leah and Ava; his siblings, Wilma Sain (Buddy), Clara Cloninger and Jerry Canipe (Annette); and his sister-in-law Gail Canipe. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
