With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Wayne Thornburg of Cherryville, North Carolina, who passed away on May 26, 2022 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Clarence Virgil Thornburg, Sr.; and his siblings, Mazel Cody, Ponese Heavner, Peggy Garner, C. V., Pete, Hal and Max Thornburg.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Heafner Thornburg; his sons, Kevin Thornburg (Rose Ellen Sain) and Kirk Thornburg (Hope); his grandchildren, Trent Thornburg (Chelsea), Nate Thornburg (Kayla), Hunter Sawer, Harlee Austin and Haven Austin; and his great grandchildren, Ava, Raelyn, Laikynn Mae and Addilyn Rose.
