He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah Matthew Mauney and Bessie Mae Mauney Mauney; his wife Lucille Hardin Mauney; and his siblings, Margie Homesley, Noah, James, Thomas and John "Jig" Mauney.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Sue Shellman (Mark) of Gastonia and Matt Mauney (Heather) of Cherryville; his grandchildren, Taylor, Kimberly Shellman, Sara and Rebecca Mauney; and his brother William "Bill" Mauney (Jane) of Cherryville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
