She was predeceased by: her parents, David A. Morrow and Mae Kiser Morrow; her husband Lawrence Walter Hovis, Sr.; and her siblings, D. A. Morrow, Harry Morrow and Eloise Morrow Tennyson.
She is survived by: her children, Walt Hovis Jr. (Betty) and Mary Beth Buchanan (Buck); her brother Marvin Morrow; and her grandsons, Robert Jenkins (Pam), Paul Jenkins and Miles Hovis.
