He was predeceased by: his father Bronner G. Gantt; his wife Linda Hines Gantt; and his siblings, B. F. Gantt, Linda Adams, Hilda Gilbert and Lahree Powell.
He is survived by: his children, Scott Matha Gantt (Sue) of Lincolnton and Deborah Gantt Taylor (Ricky) of Gastonia; his siblings, Shirley Hull of Vale, Virginia Foster of Vale and Ernest Wayne Gantt of Vale; and his grandchildren, Justin Gantt, Phillip Gantt and Katie Hayes. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
