He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Brooks and Essie Jarrell Brooks; and his siblings, Bill Brooks, Gene Brooks, Boyd Brooks and Geraldine Dellinger.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Abee Brooks; his daughter Diana B. Cross; his grandsons, Kenneth Dale Cross and Jessie Aaron Cross; and his brother Nick Brooks.
