She was predeceased by: her husband Billy Ray George; her parents, Ernest J. Hornbuckle and Laura Belle Long; and her siblings, Robert "Squint" Long, Glenn Long, Marilyn "Sis" Crowe, Danita "Neetsie" Chiltoskie and Naomi Ruth Hornbuckle.
She is survived by: her children, Devan George (Dorine) and Billy Jo Miller (Johnny); her grandchildren, Joshua (Candace), Devy (Xavier), Dillon (Mindy), Xavier (Cass), John Jr. (Sarah), Christopher (Erin), Emelia and Gabriel; her great grandchildren, Carter Zhavius Anona, Josephina and Nyla; her siblings, Butch Long (Carol), Sherri Hornbuckle (Bob Owle), Glenda Beanie Crowe, Paul Hornbuckle (Mary), David Hornbuckle (Juanita) and Charlie Hornbuckle; and her aunts, Helen McCoy and Lillie Mae Smith.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Rock Springs Baptist Church (129 Old Gap Rd, Cherokee, NC 28719). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
