It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Furman Douglas Smith-Crowe of Cherokee, North Carolina, who passed away on December 18, 2020, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Smith-Crowe and Mildred Smith-Crowe; his daughter Millie Smith; and his sisters, Tammy Smith and April Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Melinda Cogdill Smith Crowe; his siblings, Nancy Teague (Kenneth) of Clyde, NC., Alvin Smith of Waynesville, Bonnie Maney (Bobby), Donnie Mann (Mark), Sammy and Ruthie Griggs (Ricky); and his children, Elexis Fancher (Jeff), Wesley Smith Crowe (Amanda) and Thomas Smith-Crowe. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.
