He is survived by: his wife Betty; his daughter Stephanie Vars (Kevin); his son-in-law Patric Spillane; his grandchildren, Kara Vars, Gwendolyn Vars and Joey Spillane; his sister Doris Winchester; his stepdaughters, Jane Wycoff and Susan Erwin; his stepgrandchildren, Michael Crosby, Ashlee Pichette (Chad) and Nicholas Wycoff; and also, Rick and Charlie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Herron's memory to Dilworth United Methodist Church, Charlotte, NC.
