She was predeceased by : her parents, Lester Chastain and Nettie Hyde Chastain; her son Heath Graves; and her sisters, Millisa Chastain and Zannie Lee Harris.
She is survived by : her husband Paul R. Schmaldinst; her pet Lily Ann; her stepsons, Devon Schmaldinst, Tyler Schmaldinst (Sean Hayes), Ethan Schmaldinst (Julia) and Collin Schmaldinst (Leta); her brother Steve Chastain (Lois); her granddaughter Lily Grace Schmaldinst; and her close friend Richard Cecil. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, June 23rd 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Tuesday, June 25th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, June 23rd 2024 at 4:00 PM and on Tuesday, June 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, June 25th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Sunny Point Baptist Church Cemetery (2501 Sunny Point Rd, Murphy, NC 28906).
