She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen Faye Spitzer and John R. "Jack" Simpson; and her son William Blake Shaw. She is survived by: her sons, Lawrence M. Shaw, Jr. (Karen) of Charlotte and John P. Shaw (Wanda) of Lake Wylie; her granddaughters, Avery Shaw Rogers (Patrick) of Charlotte and Julia E. Shaw (Selden) of Charlotte; her sister Cynthia S. Hattersley; her niece Patricia Pettingill (Michael) of Statesville; and her caregivers, Kim Morrill and Janell Shafer.
