He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Douglas and Pearlie Mae Douglas; and his wife Ruth Douglas. He is survived by: his aunt Mary White (Henry White); his siblings, James Crawford (Beverly), Keith "Bucky" Douglas and Cathy Douglas; his children, Jamila Gittens (Rob) of Charlotte, Joy Douglas (Tacoby) of Charlotte, Jamal Douglas of Charlotte, Jessica "Monique" Douglas of Charlotte, Jonathan Douglas of Charlotte, Jalisa Douglas of Charlotte and Joseph Douglas of Charlotte; and his grandchildren, Janiya Douglas, Xander Gittens, Ja'Alliyah Douglas, Jaiden Hamilton-Douglas, Josiah Douglas, Jamison Douglas and Jiovanni Douglas.

Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Grier Funeral Service, Inc. (115 John McCarroll Ave, Charlotte, NC 28216). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
