He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Joy and Lillian Cust Joy. He is survived by: his wife Terry Dowdle Joy; his children, Kelly Joy Yonak (Reggie), Michael and Allen Summerville; his grandchildren, Justin, Emma, Hannah, Blake, Hattie and Jacob; his great grandchildren, Emmerson, Jackson, Clayton and Novaleigh; his siblings, Jody Hartsell (Eddie), Martha Casper (Mike), Rusty and John Joy; his mother-in-law Loretta Dowdle; his sister-in-law Donna Dowdle; and his niece Courtney Nesline (Kevin).
