He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Freeman Sr. (Effie Moore Freeman) and Deon; his son Justice Freeman; and his sister Deborah Johnson. He is survived by: his son Richard Freeman Ramsahal (Erica) of Cherry Hill, NJ; his siblings, Leroy Freeman Jr., Diane Staten (Clarence) of Chocowinity, NC and Carolyn Hawkins (Earl) of Lamar, SC; his grandsons, Kai and Kaden Ramsahal of Cherry Hill, NJ.; his nieces and nephews, Dominique Johnson Turner, Joi Brown, Yorel Davis, Ashley S. Williams Freeman, Simone Wright Freeman, Dr Clarissa Staten, Dr. Deanna Staten, Davis Freeman, Julius Alexander Grant and Drayshawn Johnson; and his friends, Arlene Angeles of Charlotte, NC and Darlene Roberts of Hickory, NC.
