He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Burgess and Mary Burgess. He is survived by: his wife Dolores Seiler Burgess of Charlotte, NC; his sons, Raymond Burgess (Kathy) of Plattsburgh, NY and Jim Burgess (Kelly) of Harrisburg, NC; and his grandchildren, Samuel, Lisa, Marielle, Carolyn and Christopher.
