With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rasheeda Shapheem El in Charlotte, North Carolina, born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, who passed away on September 29, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeremiah Forney and Ruby Walton Forney; her husband Henry Barber; her daughters, Anewa Tiari and Parissi Katash; and her brothers, Willie Forney, Charles Forney and Eddie O'Neal Forney.

She is survived by: her children, Kamiylah Chanah-Bey, Linda McClure (Willie), Bernard Barber and Le'Andra Barber Smith; her siblings, Robert Forney, Bobby Forney of Charlotte, NC, Juanita Boyd of New Haven, Bernice Massey of Charlotte, NC., Betty Robinson of Charlotte, NC. and Karen Forney of Charlotte, NC.; and her uncle Emorie Walton of Mooresville, NC.. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 14 great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
