She was predeceased by: her father Larkin Brown; her husband Joe Shines Sr.; her son Leano; her daughter-in-law Angela Zephir; her grandson Leano Zephir; her siblings, Michael Brown and Blanche McLaughlin; and her nephew Kenyetto Greene.
She is survived by: her mother Marjorie Brown; her siblings, Florence, Marcia, Victoria (Leonard), Larkin (Dianna), Edith, Frederick and Francine; and her grandchildren, Tyant, Alysha (Preston) and Cydney. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, "adopted" children and friends.
