She was predeceased by: her parents, Harris Charles Steed and Nola McCaskill Steed; her husband Roy McDowell Hester; and her siblings, Myra Steed Bishop and Mack Charles Steed.
She is survived by: her sons, Stanley Teed Hester of Charlotte, NC and Scott McDowell Hester (Cathy McMillan Hester) of Charlotte, NC; and her grandson Matthew Charles Novo (Elizabeth Knight Novo) of Athens, GA.
