He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Mae Wagner Whisnant and Murphy Edgar Whisnant Sr.; his grandparents, James Alexander (Barbara Ann Hallman Wagner), Loyd P and Minnie Abernethy Whisnant of Catawba Co; his great-grandparent Benjamin Franklin; his wife Robbie King Godfrey Whisnant; his stepson Thomas H Godfrey Jr.; his grandson Thomas H Godfrey III; his great grandchild Richard Lee Godfrey; his stepdaughter Donna M Godfrey Seeley; and his sister Mary Jean W Burns. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sharon Memorial Park (5716 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the McEwen Chapel (5716 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212).
