He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Kilgo and Daisy Cousar Kilgo; his sons, Herschell Kilgo, Mitchell Kilgo Jr. (Latonya) and Leroy Paulings III; and his grandchildren, Brandon and DeGrandval III.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Kilgo; his children, Bridgett Burke (DeGrandval Jr.), Davaria Kilgo Robertson (Gregory), Daisy Kilgo, Cindy Paulings, Lurinna Strong (Bobby), Antwain Paulings (Sandra) and Patrick Martin (Toya); his close friend Johnny Kilgo; his daughter-in-law Marnita Kilgo; and his sister-in-law Nonie Mae Williams. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren.
