We bid farewell to Maria Elena Hernandez of Charlotte, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 3, 2024 at the age of 82. Maria Elena touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Juan Hernandez and Maria (Angeles Neris); and her siblings, Silvia, Marina, Negere and Quico.
She is survived by: her husband Juan "Fredy" Francisco Ortega; her children, Juan F. Ortega (Yari) and Maria Del Carmen Ortega; her grandchildren, Joey, Cristian, Anthony, Sean, Matthew, Elizabeth, Jayden, Justin and Jacob; and her siblings, Modesta, Sangeles, Ninita, Rosario, Kiko, Pingo and Juan Rey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Kika, to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
