She was predeceased by: her parents, Effie Bell Whitlock Wallace and Gurney Clifton Wallace of Hamptonville, NC.; her husband John Garvis Smith; and her sister Wanda Wallace Dobbins. She is survived by: her children, Mark Wallace Smith (Desiraa) and Christie Smith Cole (Laverne); her grandson Grayson Davis Cole (Lauren); and her sister Jeanette Wallace Hyde.
