It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josie Leo Smith (Charlotte, North Carolina), born in Hartsville, South Carolina, who passed away on May 18, 2018, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Creola Smith Gainey, Harrison Smith, Lois Smith Jones and Leola Smith Woodworth (Ting); and his former wife Avis Oliver Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Emily Marion Smith; his daughter Marilyn Stephens; his grandchildren, Nancy Stoltz and Richard Stoltz (Mary); and his great grandchildren, Abbie Stoltz and Anna Stoltz.
