It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Morrison Balmer of Charlotte, North Carolina, born in Greenwich, Connecticut, who passed away on December 24, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Valentine Balmer and Charlotte Balmer; his wife Diane Foster Balmer; his brother Donald A.; and his sister-in-law Adrienne Balmer.

He is survived by: his children, Dr. John M. Balmer, Jr. (Jennifer) of Lynchburg, VA, Kevin A. Balmer of Cary, NC, Ellen B. Tuttle (Phil) of Duluth, GA and David G. Balmer (Karen) of Bluffton, SC; his grandchildren, Laura A. Gardner of Charlotte, NC., Emily D. Tuttle of Duluth, GA and Philip A. Tuttle (Erika) of Elgin, IL; and his great grandchildren, Ava, Jack, Addie and June.
