He was predeceased by: his parents, Coleman Sims and Gladys Hampton; and his sisters, Alice Waddell and Blanche Beasley. He is survived by: his children, Sharon A. Freeman, Angela Burton, John E. Sims, Jr. (Barbara), Johnny Darnell Holly (Robin), Pam R. Sims, Camilla Draffin, Jeff Siby (Penny) of Fayetteville, NC, Shanara Sims and Aggie Sims. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
