He was predeceased by: his mother Catherine Collins; and his daughter Elizabeth Collins. He is survived by: his children, Jeremiah Collins III and Chris Collins; his stepsons, Trey and Rob Foskett; his grandchildren, Jeremiah McGregor, Kieran Hunt and Kaity D'Angelo; his great grandchild Elizabeth Hunt; his half-sisters, Betty Sheehan and Pam Perkins; and his former wives, Diane Foskett and Kay Collins.

His contributions to science and his community will not be forgotten.
