“I remember Jeff from his grad school days at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He was warm, exuberant, creative, gracious and passionate. At the time our Jewish community was small and depended a lot on lay leadership, and Jeff graciously gave of his time despite his heavy academic schedule. When our children were born he made each of them a faux stained glass picture in honor of their birth and to decorate their room. I cherish them. His memory will be a blessing.”

“I met Jeff when he first moved into his home. The first thing he told me was that he loved to teach. Much could be said about his career, but the Jeff I knew was far more than that. He was the first to offer to help a neighbor, loved his students, and shared a love of animals. He was a genuine people person and would grieve with me each time I had to say goodbye to one of my furbabies. I pray that Jeff is now reunited with his beloved Esther and Mordecai. Rest in peace, my dear friend.”
